Zambo City, Zambo Sur rule regional sportsfest

ZAMBOANGA City emerged as champion in the elementary level and Zamboanga del Sur ruled the high school level in the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) 2015 in Pagadian City last week.

Dr. Malcolm Garma, DepEd regional director, said Zamboanga City won 37 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze medals.

In second place was Zamboanga del Sur with 27 golds, 27 silvers, and 30 bronzes, and Dipolog City was third with 24 gold, 21 silver, and 13 bronze medals.


Pagadian City was fourth (20-22-9) Zamboanga del Norte fifth, 10-13-33), Zamboanga Sibugay sixth (10-10-19), Isabela City seventh (8-8-16), and Dapitan City eighth (2-9-8).

Garma said Zamboanga del Sur emerged as champion in the secondary level with 55 gold, 39 silver and 25 bronze medals.

Second was Zamboanga City (35-35-32) third Dipolog City (16-19-30), fourth Pagadian City (10-8 silver-26); fifth, Zamboanga del Norte (7-13-22), sixth, Dapitan City (6-9-11), seventh, Zamboanga Sibugay (5-5-16), eight, Isabela City (1-7-8).

Special awards were given to Zamboanga City as the most disciplined delegation; Isabela City, most organized; and Zamboanga Sibugay, the cleanest and eco-environment friendly. (Bong Garcia)
