FOUR people, including a teenager, were wounded in a gun attack by a lone motorcycle-riding gunman in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Thursday.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula Information Officer-in-Charge Dahlan Samuddin said the incident took place around 10:30 p.m. at a billiard hall in Purok Bougainvillea, Barangay Turno, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.

Inspector Samuddin identified the victims as Joel Cayud-Ong, Abraham Vergara, Iky Jet Campomanes, and Jeiboy Lacay.

Cayud-Ong and Vergara were taken to Zamboanga del Norte North Cooperative Hospital, while Campomanes and Lacay were brought to the Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center.

Police investigation showed that Campomanes and Cayud-Ong have just finished a play at the billiard hall owned by Vergara when the motorcycle-riding gunman arrived and shot them.

Samuddin said the main targets of the suspect were Campomanes and Cayud-Ong, while Vergara and Lacay were hit by stray bullets.

Samuddin said no one among the people around the billiard hall managed to recognize the gunman since his face is covered with a scarf. The gunman, armed with a caliber .45 pistol, fled after the incident.

The responding policemen recovered 10 empty shells and six slugs of caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene, Samuddin said.

Investigation continues to establish the motive of the incident and unmask the gunman.
