Gunman kills bank official

AN OFFICIAL of a banking firm was killed along the highway of Zamboanga del Sur province, the police reported Saturday.

Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) Information Officer-in-Charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin said the incident took place around 1:51 p.m. Friday at Purok Durian in the village of Magahis, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur.

Samuddin identified the victim as Rolando Saladaga, 37, the account officer of the 1st Valley Bank-Margosatubig branch.


Samuddin said investigation disclosed the victim was driving his issued motorcycle traversing from the village of Magahis to the village of Mulom in Lapuyan town when an unidentified person stopped him along the highway.

The suspect suddenly pulled a handgun and repeatedly shot Saladaga at the height of their conversation that resulted to the death of the victim, according to Samuddin.

Investigation continues in a bid to determine the motive of the incident as well as the identity of the suspect, he added.
