COMBINED police and multi-agency task force personnel have rescued four would-be trafficking victims and arrested two suspected illegal recruiters in Zamboanga City, an official announced Friday.

Zamboanga City Police Director Angelito Casimiro did not identify the rescued victims except in saying they were recruited to work in Malaysia.

Senior Superintendent Casimiro said the victims were rescued around 1 p.m. Wednesday at the local wharf.

Casimiro identified the arrested suspects as Rolienel Villegas, 44, and Sharna Jackaria, 24, of Barangays Lumbangan and Baliwasan, respectively.

The suspects were turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for the filing of appropriate charges.

The victims were placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
