THE Department of Health (DOH) is set to conduct mass immunization against measles and polio for children five years old below next month in Zamboanga Peninsula Region.

DOH Local Health Support Division chief Joshua Brillantes said they are targeting to immunize 422,919 children against measles and 496,470 on Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).

Brillantes urged the parents to bring their children five years old and below to the health centers and government-owned hospitals to have them immunize.

Brillantes told the parents it is important to immunize their children to protect against measles and polio.

He said the immunization campaign is geared to make the Philippines free from measles and polio diseases.

It will be held simultaneously nationwide.

He said the campaign is anchored on the theme “Ligtas sa Tigdas, Magkaisa, Magpabakuna.” (Bong Garcia)
