8 drug users fall

EIGHT suspected drug users were arrested while the alleged drug pusher eluded arrest in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday.

Arrested were the following: Absmar Sampang, 18; Romel Natividad, 36; Mark Gonzales, 30; Ferdausa Ellong, 29; Majid Hasim; Basri Usab; Artimin Ahmad; and, Fatima Hasim.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (PRO-9) Information Officer-in-Charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin said they were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation around 6 p.m. Tuesday at Kasalamatan Drive in the village of Sta. Catalina.


However, Samuddin said the alleged drug pusher who was identified as Sival Salih alias Val eluded arrest.

The arresting team confiscated seven heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules believed to be shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, and P500 “marked money” consisting of one P200 bill and three P100 bills, according to Samudding.

The arrested suspects were detained at ZCPO while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them, he added. (Bong Garcia)
