ZAMBOANGA City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos said the number of dengue cases declined by 153 last month compared to that in June this year in this city, because of massive cleanup.

Agbulos said the continuous clean-up drive coupled with anti-dengue advocacy has reduced the cases of dengue to 387 in July from 540 in June this year.

“We were able to reduce the case from 540 in June to 367 for the month of July,” Agbulos said.

He said they are optimistic they will be able to maintain the low number of cases for this month even if it is already rainy season.
