EIGHT people were arrested when policemen raided a drug den in Lamitan City, Basilan province, a police official said Monday.

Lamitan City police director Gean Gallardo said the raiding team has confiscated five sachets of suspected shabu, a weighing scale and electronic gadgets during the raid.

Gallardo said the raid was carried out on the strength of a search warrant issued by the Court around 10:45 a.m. Monday at the residence of Hayzam Sangkula at Sitio Tinambakan in the village of Maganda, Lamitan City.

He said the raiding team confiscated at the residence of Sangkula five sachets of shabu, a laptop, a tablet, a weighing scale, six cellular phones, P2,770 cash of different denominations, a digital camera, a sword locally known as “barong” and five disposable lighters.

The sitio of tinambakan has been tagged by the police authorities as safe haven of prohibited drugs in Lamitan City.
