TWO people were killed on separate gun attacks in Zamboanga Peninsula region, the police said Wednesday.

The police identified the fatalities as Norberto Bayabos, 43, and Jhonrey Altamia, 32.

Police Regional Office (PRO) information officer-in-charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin said Bayabos was shot and killed around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Lapiedan, Pagadian City.

Bayabos was together with his live-in partner, Marlin Dequito, at their house when an unidentified gunman barged in and shot the victim.

In the village of Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City, Altamia was allegedly shot and killed by Raymond Delos Reyes, a former Navy man, who went on absent without official leave, the police said.

Altamia was driving a pick-up vehicle with his girlfriend and her son aboard on the way home when allegedly shot and killed by Delos Reyes around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

They came from downtown after celebrating the birthday of the son of Altamia’s girlfriend when the incident happened, the police added.

Delos Reyes was the former husband of Altamia’s girlfriend and is the father of the birthday celebrant.

The suspect is now at large.
