THE registration for Dapitan City’s first "Kinabayo Festival" photo contest is now open.

Dapitan City Tourism Officer Apple Marie Agolong said the registration of participants started last Friday and ends July 23.

Kinabayo Festival is the feast day of Saint James the Greater, the patron saint of Dapitan City.

Agolong said the photo contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers. However, her office staff who are members of the contest's organizing committee are disqualified to join.

Agolong said a registration fee of P100 will be collected from the participants. The participants will receive identification pass to allow them to take pictures of all festival activities.

She said the prizes at stake are P8,000 plus certificate for the 1st prize; P5,000 plus certificate for the 2nd prize; and P3,000 plus certificate for the 3rd prize.

The announcement and awarding of the winners will be on the culmination of the "Kinabayo Festival" on July 25.
