Gunman kills ex-OFW

A FORMER overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was killed while his friends escaped unscathed in a gun attack in an east coast village of Zamboanga City.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer-in-charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin said the incident took place around 8 p.m. Monday in the village of Sangali, east of the city.

Samuddin identified the fatality as Junio Habing, 45, a former OFW and a resident of Sitio Daap in the village of Sangali.


Samuddin said investigation showed the victim was with his friends having a drinking spree at a store when he was repeatedly shot by an unidentified motorcycle-riding gunman.

Investigation continues to determine the motive of the incident as well as the identity of the suspect, Samuddin said.
