Official, 3 others hurt in accident

FOUR people, including a town official, were injured in a vehicular accident along the highway of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Thursday.

Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer-in-charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin identified those injured as Nathaniel Usin, the Vice-Mayor of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, his wife, Revera, 52, son, Ray-ial, 22, and Ricardo Tanoco, 31, the driver.

Samuddin said the incident took place around 11 a.m. Wednesday in the village of Disakan, Manukan, Zamboanga Del Norte.


Samuddin said investigation showed the victims were aboard a four-by-four Hilux vehicle driven by Tanoco and were traveling from Siocon town of Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.

Tanoco lost control of the steering wheel and swerved to the right shoulder of the road and hit the concrete structure that injured them, Samuddin said.

They were rushed to the Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center by an ambulance that passed the place of the accident, he said.
