Overseas worker survives gun attack

AN OVERSEAS Filipino Worker (OFW) has survived a gun attack although wounded in the Municipality of Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Tuesday.

Shot and wounded was Roman Sela, 32, a resident of Upper Pulacan village, Labangan town.

Police Regional Office (PRO-9) in Zamboanga Peninsula information officer-in-charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin said the incident took place around 6:20 p.m. Monday in the village of Upper Pulacan.


Samuddin said investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle on the way home when waylaid and shot without apparent reason by the suspect.

He said the victim was admitted at a hospital in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur province.

Investigation continues to unmask the culprit behind the incident, the police official said. (Bong Garcia)
