Gunmen rob passenger jeep

FOUR gunmen have stage a highway robbery and carted away cash and valuables in the municipality of Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Sunday.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Office reported that the incident took place around 6 p.m. Saturday along the national highway at Sitio Banisan in the village of San Isidro, Naga municipality.

The police identified the victims as Bensar Majaraja, 41, Virgilio Cabillon, 43, and Rizalina Salipyason, 47.


Investigation disclosed that Majraja was driving multicab passenger jitney locally known as “balik-balik” carrying six passengers from Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay en route to Kabasalan town when four of the six passengers pulled out handguns and declared a hold-up.

The suspects divested the victims of valuables that include wristwatch, mobile phone, jewelry and undetermined cash, the police said.

Investigation continues in a bid to unmask the suspects, who fled to unknown direction, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
