TWO people, including a soldier, were killed in a gun attack on Saturday in Isabela City, the capital of the nearby province of Basilan.

Isabela City Police Station commander Superintendent Albert Larubis said the incident took place around 1:45 a.m. in the village of Marketsite, Isabela City.

Larubis identified the victims as Private Glendon Jorolan, a soldier, and Oliver Plad, who were residents of the villages of Panunsulan and Baluno, Isabela City, respectively.

Larubis said initial investigation showed the victims were shot dead by an unidentified gunman while they were at the residence of Manizza Yayang in the village of Marketsite.

He said the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered seven empty shells and two deformed slugs of caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.

He said he has ordered the case investigator to look into all the possible motives that could lead to the solution of the incident.
