Troops kill 2 outlaws

COMBINED police and military operatives have killed two wanted persons in a shootout in a remote village in Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Friday.

Zamboanga Peninsula Police Regional Office Officer-in-Charge Dahlan Samuddin identified the suspects as Jaojin Salam and Abdullah Ermeron.

The police said Salam and Ermeron were killed in a shootout around 9:50 a.m. Thursday in the village of San Juan, Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte.


The shootout ensued when Salam and Ermeron opened fire as they were about to be arrested by the authorities.

Samuddin said the Salam was listed as the number nine of the top 10 most wanted person in the region.

Samuddin said Salam has standing warrants of arrest issued by the Court of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte for murder, frustrated murder, murder with direct assault upon an agent of person in authority.
