4 nabbed for illegal treasure hunting

GOVERNMENT authorities have arrested four people who were treasure hunting in Pader Cave in the village of Victoria, Zamboanga City.

Arrested for violation of Republic Act 9072 otherwise known as the National Cave and Cave Resources Management and Protection Act were Arturo Manlangit, 55; Edgardo Barredo, 49; Ronald Villanueva, 49; and, Roel Aizon, 44, all residents of this city.

They were arrested around 3 p.m. on Sunday, the police said. The suspects failed to present documents when questioned by the personnel from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the police said.


They were detained pending for the filing of charges, the police added.
