THREE people, including a policeman, were arrested in an anti-drug operation in the nearby Isabela City, Basilan province, an official said Wednesday.

Isabela City police commander Superintendent Albert Larubis identified those arrested as Police Officer 1 (PO1) Maning Musa, his live-in partner, Jocelyn Sabtal, and Jemar Ellias.

Larubis said Musa is assigned at the Isabela City Police Station's Patrol Section.

Larubis said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 6 a.m. Wednesday in the village of Port Area, Isabela City.

The buy-bust was carried out following surveillance on the reported illicit activities of the suspects, Larubis.

The arresting team recovered from the suspects' possession 21 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu”, P1,000 "marked money," and several prohibited drugs paraphernalia, he said.

He said the suspects were detained at the Isabela City police headquarters.

Charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects, he said.
