AN INDIAN money lender survived although wounded while a Filipina businesswoman was killed in two separate gun attacks in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police said Saturday.
Killed was Juanita Rasonable, 53, of Zamboanga del Sur and wounded was Amandeep Kour Singh, 28, of Zamboanga City.
Singh was shot and wounded around 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sitio Lumiyap in the village of Divisoria, east of the city.
Investigation showed that Singh was driving motorcycle while collecting lending payments when shot from behind by one of two men riding tandem on another motorcycle, the police said.
The suspects, who were aboard a blue motorcycle without registered plate number, fled upon seeing Singh fell on the ground, the police said.
The police said that Rasonable was shot and killed around 11:30 a.m. Friday at Purok 8 in the village of Sambulawan, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.
Investigation showed that Rasonable was on the way to the family-owned farm to bring food for her husband when waylaid by unidentified gunmen.
The suspects repeatedly shot the victim that resulted to her untimely death, the police said.
The suspects reportedly fled on foot towards the village of Upper Pulacan of the nearby town of Labangan, Zambopanga del Sur, the police said.
Both cases care continuously being investigated, the police said.
