1 injured in Titay town robbery

ONE person was shot and wounded while two others, including a businessman, were unscathed in a robbery in Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Saturday.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Office reported that the incident happened around 9 p.m. Friday in the village of Supit, Titay municipality.

The police said Ronnel Pikilan was wounded after he tried to escape from the robbers. Unscathed were George Saluba, 58, who is into rubber business, and his driver, Wilson Sanson.


Investigation showed that Saluba and his two workers were in the village of Supit when three unidentified persons approached them and pretended to transact business.

However, one of the robbers suddenly pulled a handgun and declared a heist. The three men carted away P65,000 cash and a mobile phone from the victims, the police said.
