A BRITISH missionary was injured when a passenger bus fell into a ditch in a remote area of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Monday.

Injured was Stacey Louise Baker, 25, from the United Kingdom, who was rushed to the Liloy Integrated Hospital. Baker is a Pentecostal Missionary.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (PRO-9) spokesman Senior Inspector Joseph Ortega said the accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the village of Comunal, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

Ortega said Baker along with other passengers was aboard a mini bus driven by Ronnei Patria, 40, traveling to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay coming from Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

Patria lost control of the steering wheel after the bus had a mechanical problem causing the vehicle to fall into a roadside ditch, he said.

All of the other passengers including the driver, except Baker, were unharmed, he said. (Bong Garcia)
