3,494 OFWs processed by POEA in Q1

A TOP official of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that 3,494 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) were process during the first quarter of this year.

POEA Regional Officer-in-Charge Marietta Bellotindos made this announcement citing that 2,175 of the 3,494 OFWs are females while the remaining 1,319 are males.

Majority of the OFWs’ work destinations are in the Middle East like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Brunei, according to Bellotindos.


She said that the other work destinations of the OFWs that were processed are Singapore, Seychelles, and Papua New Guinea.

She said they include professionals, service workers, laborers, sales workers, agriculturists, and clerks. (Bong Garcia)
