THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has appointed two election officers in Zamboanga City, an official announced.

Comelec Regional Director Wilfred Balisado said the first district election office has new head with the recent appointment of lawyer Stephen Roy Cañete.

Balisado said Cañete has replaced Jesus Alvin Lim, who was reassigned to his previous post as election officer of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Cañete’s appointment was signed by Comelec Commissioner Sixto Brillantes Jr.

Balisado said the second district election office will have a new head following the appointment of lawyer Dorks Matildo, who will replace Joseph Ian Tria by June this year.

Balisado said that Tria will return to his previous assignment in Zamboanga del Sur.

Cañete and Matildo are experienced Comelec personnel and possessed the required qualification to be election officers, Balisado said.
