THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is scheduled to validate this month the agency’s beneficiaries of social pension and modified conditional cash transfer programs (MCCT) in Zamboanga Peninsula region.
DSWD information for Listahanan Ivan Eric Salvador said among the beneficiaries to be validated in the social pension includes those who were identified by the local government units (LGUs).
DSWD records showed that there are 6,799 social pensioners that were identified by the different LGUs in the region, Salvador said.
He said the social pensioners are indigent elderly aged 77 years old who do not have family members that support them and do not receive any pension.
The validation on the beneficiaries of the MCCT is to determine whether they will qualify to be enrolled with the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Salvador said.
He said there are 2,616 MCCT beneficiaries in the region.
The beneficiaries of the MCCT, also known as the Modified Pantawid, are poor families with children 0-14 years old and who are in need of special protection in the following categories: street children and families in pockets of poverty who are not covered by the 4Ps and are not included in the Listahanan, migrant families who are Indigenous Peoples, families with children with disabilities, families of child laborers, and families that are displaced due to man-made and natural disasters.
