FOUR people, including two children, were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, the police said Monday.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (PRO-9) spokesman Senior Inspector Joseph Ortega said the incident took place Sunday morning at Sitio Basagan in the village of Buenavista.

Ortega identified the victims as the following: Ronnie Hitalada, 43; Emelda Hitalada, 49; Regine Hiutalada, 10; and Roname Hitalada, seven, all residents of Sitio Dungkaan in the village of Mangusu.

Investigation showed the Hitaladas were aboard a motorcycle driven by Ronnie, traveling to Mangusu coming from Buenavista when an incoming motorcycle encroached their lane and collided head on.

Ortega said the victims were rushed to the Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital in the nearby village of Quiniput for treatment.

The driver of the other motorcycle, who remained unidentified, escaped and is subject of a police manhunt, Ortega said.
