Kidnappers charged

THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed criminal charges against eight suspected kidnappers, one of whom was arrested in Zamboanga del Norte, the police said.

Charged for kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention with no bail recommended were the following: Omar Wahab alias Binday; Jamaruddin Alih alias Boy Takas; Bader Salpuddin; Roger Kalas; and, four other John Does, the police said.

Wahab is detained since he was arrested last April 4 in the village of Malambunhangin, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.


The suspects were charged before a Court in Siocon municipality for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Michael Kho, a resident of Poblacion village of the said town, last April 1, the police said.

Kho was at the family-owned gasoline station when the suspects arrived and seized him, the police said.

Intelligence monitoring and manhunt operation continues to arrest the other suspects as well as rescue the victim, the police said.
