Another top fugitive falls

THE police have arrested another one of the most wanted persons in its continuous law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Thursday.

Arrested was Gerald Torres, 23, who is listed as the second most wanted person in the Municipality of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, according to the police.

Torres was arrested around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Bomba, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga Del Sur.


The police said that Torres, who is a resident of Kahayagan East village, Aurora, has a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Court for robbery with double homicide with no bail recommended.

He is temporarily detained at the lock-up cell of Aurora police station prior to his turn over to appropriate authorities.

Torres’ arrest came after the police have arrested Jonard Torres, the number one most wanted person in the town of Aurora.

Jonard was arrested also on Tuesday in his residence in the village of Inasagan, Aurora municipality.

He has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of robbery with double Homicide with no bail recommended issued by the Court, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
