THE police are conducting a thorough investigation to unmask the gunman responsible for the attack at the residence of a former provincial official in Zamboanga del Norte.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office (ZDNPO) reported that the incident took place around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at the residence of former Provincial Board member Alan Ranilo along Gonzales Street in Barangay Biasong, Dipolog City.

The police said no one was either wounded or killed during the incident, and it was also not known whether Ranilo was at home or not at the time of the incident.

The gun attack has caused damage on the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and on the steel entrance gate of the Ranilo's residence, said the police.

The suspects, who were reportedly riding tandem on a motorcycle, sped to unknown direction, the police said.

A deformed slug and two spent shells of caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene, the police said.

Investigation continues to unmask the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
