Universidad de Zamboanga student abducted-A A +A

A UNIVERSITY student was seized by unidentified people and was released more than four hours later in the nearby province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported.
Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca identified the victim as Basil Brice Bernardo, a Radiologic Technology student of the Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ).
Huesca said that Bernardo was seized by five unidentified persons around 10:45 a.m. Friday beside the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).
Bernardo is an intern at the government-owned ZCMC located in the corners of Dr. Evangelista Street and Veterans Avenue.
Huesca said that the culprits dragged the victim into a van that sped off to the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The victim was recovered by policemen of Ipil town, Zamboanga Sibugay around 3 p.m. inside a fast food chain outlet.
The victim told the police that he was released because the suspects took pity on him, according to Huesca.
Investigation continues in a bid to establish the identities of the abductors.
