Farmer hurt in gun attack, brother unscathed

A FARMER was wounded while his brother escaped unscathed in a gun attack in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Saturday.

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Office said the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday at Purok 7 in the village of Poblacion, Dimataling town.

The police identified the victim as Oliver Saplot, 33. His younger brother, Ruben, 26, was unscathed.


Investigation showed that the Saplot brothers were on the way home after they plowed the rice field of Rudy Bayobay when a gunman wearing bonnet shot them.

The victim, who was hit in the face, was brought to a hospital.

Investigation continues to identify the perpetrator. (Bong Garcia)
