Grenade blast hits Pagadian City

A GRENADE explosion has rocked the city of Pagadian, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said Sunday.

No one was however killed or injured in the incident that took place around 8:35 p.m. Saturday at purok Citrus in the village of Dumagoc, Pagadian City, said Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer.

Huesca said the grenade exploded at the residence of Virgina Tano of the Dumagoc village, Pagadian City.


Investigation showed the explosive, an M67 fragmentation grenade, was tossed by unidentified suspects who escaped aboard two motorcycles, he said.

Huesca said investigation continues and all possible motives are being look into to unmask the identities of the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
