1 dies; another injured in gun attacks-A A +A

A NATIVE of Jolo, Sulu, was killed while a businessman was wounded on two separate gun attacks in Zambhaonga City, the police reported.
The local police identified the fatality as Ismael Unga, who was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician, and wounded was Felix Mosqueda, 45, a businessman from this city.
The police said that Unga was shot and killed by a lone gunman around 6:47 a.m. Tuesday along the junction of Rizal and Corcuera Streets in downtown Zamboanga City.
Investigation showed that Unga was exchanging text messages with someone when the unidentified gunman appeared and repeatedly shot the victim, the police said.
The suspect, who was armed with a .45 caliber pistol, fled on foot from the crime scene, the the police added.
Mosqueda was shot and wounded around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday in front of a Church in the village of Tumaga, east of this city.
Investigation showed that the victim was driving his motorcycle and travelling from north to south direction when repeatedly shot by one of two men riding tandem on another motorcycle that tailed the victim, the police said.
The suspects fled towards the direction of the city proper, the police said.
Both incidents are being thoroughly investigated aimed to establish the identities of the suspects, the police added. (Bong Garcia)
