TWO children were found dead two days after they were reported missing in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday.

Alnazer Amirol, 8, and Zerhan Alisane, 9, were recovered dead around 7 a.m. at a seaweed plantation in the village Caparan, Ipil town.

The police said they were believed to have drowned when they went to play at the seaweed plantation of Jul-Ambre Alisane, a member of the Bantay and the grandfather of the two children.

The police learned that the two children were allowed by their grandmother when they asked permission to play around shortly before 2 p.m. Friday.

The two children, however, went to the village wharf, played on a banca and went to the sea without being noticed, the police said.

The children’s grandmother, whose identity was unknown, reported to the police that the victims have gone missing after they failed to return home on Friday.

It was only Sunday morning that their cadavers were found, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
