A 29-YEAR-OLD man was wounded while two others escaped unscathed in a gun attack in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Sunday.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office reported that the shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the village of Balakan, Salug town.

The police identified the victim as Rejie Tantay, who was hit on his right knee.

The police did not release the identities of Tantay’s companions except in saying that they are his parents.

Investigation showed that Tantay and his parents were having a conversation when they heard two gun shots coming from their backyard that injured the victim.

The victim as well as his parents was unable to recognize the suspect since it was dark in their backyard, the police said.

Investigation continues in a bid to establish the motive of the incident and to indentify the suspects, the police added. (Bong Garcia)
