A SUPERVISOR of a private security firm was clubbed to death by a co-worker near a water treatment facility in Zamboanga City, the police reported Saturday.
The Police Station 7 (PS7) reported that the incident took place around 8:40 p.m. Friday at Kilometer 6 in the village of Pasonanca.
The police identified the fatality as Roel Lucaylucay, 43, the head guard of the Aloha Security Agency detailed at the treatment plant of the Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) in the village of Pasonanca.
The police said the victim was allegedly clubbed to death with a paddle by Maurice Noel Fernando, 25, also a security guard of the same agency.
Investigation showed that the victim was on his way to his post at the water treatment plant when allegedly clubbed to death by the suspect while walking along a dimly lit alley, the police said.
The victim who was hit in the head died on the spot while the suspect fled and went into hiding, the police said.
The family of Lucaylucay claimed that the victim’s money amounting to P10,000 was missing and was believed to have been taken by the suspect, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
