City sets documentary of Zambo mayors

YOUNG Zamboangueños will have the opportunity to take a trip down the memory lane as the Zamboanga City Tourism Office is launching on Monday its newest educational activity showcasing local history and leaders.

The activity, dubbed the Documentary of Zamboanga City Mayors, will feature a presentation on the history of Zamboanga City and the profiles of this city’s leaders who have held the post of “Alcalde” (Mayor) for the past 77 years.

The City Information Office said in a statement that the event is aimed to provide the students the knowledge about this city’s past and heritage.


A total of 690 students form 22 elementary, secondary and tertiary schools will participate in the opening of the documentary on Monday.

The documentary, which is set to be held at the Centro Latino, will be in three separate batches from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Documentary of Zamboanga City Mayors is part of the line-up of activities for the 77th Dia De Zamboanga (Zamboanga Day).

This year’s Dia de Zamboanga will banner the theme of Build Back Better.

The celebration of the Dia de Zamboanga marks the day when the first set of city officials headed by Mayor Nicasio Valderoza was installed into office. (Bong Garcia)
