Teener killed, teacher hurt in gun attacks-A A +A

A TEENAGER was killed while a school teacher was wounded in two separate gun attacks in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Friday.
The fatality was identified as Jason Digan, 19, and wounded was Fe Lacbayo, 36, a public school teacher, said Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca.
Huesca said Digan was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. Friday at Purok Kahayag in the village of Duamgoc, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur.
Investigation showed the victim was on his way to buy bread at a store when shot by a lone suspect from behind, Huesca said.
He said that Digan, a resident of San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur, was hit in the head and died on the spot.
He said that Lacbayo was shot and wounded Thursday afternoon along the road of Bulanit village in the municipality of Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.
Lacbayo was a Grade 6 teacher at the Bulanit Elementary School.
Huesca said that the victim on her way home when shot by one of two masked men riding tandem in a red motorcycle without registered plate number.
Both incidents are being investigated thoroughly in a bid to establish the motive as well as the identities of the suspects, Huesca said.
