Medical, dental outreach held-A A +A

A TOTAL of 332 adults and children have benefitted in a recent medical and dental outreach mission conducted by the Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) in partnership with the Sweet Charity Association Recharged (SCAR) in Zamboanga City.
The SCAR is an organization that aims to respond to the needs of the less fortunate individuals in the locality.
WestMinCom information officer Captain Maria Rowena Muyuela said the medical and dental outreach missions were conducted last week and the beneficiaries are from Sitio Kapok in the village of Upper Calarian, west of this city.
Muyuela said that 256 of the 332 children and adults received free medical consultation and free medicines while the remaining 76 received free dental services with free medicines as well.
Muyuela said the children have also benefited from the command’s feeding conducted alongside with the medical and dental outreach missions.
Meanwhile, she said the WestMinCom has also partnered with the Social Work and Community Development students of the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) in the clean-up drive along coastal area of Campo Islam village.
She said they have also turned-over 50 trash bins to the village of Campo Islam. (Bong Garcia)
