TWENTY people were injured when a passenger bus fell on its side in the village of Monching, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay Saturday noon.

Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Ariel Huesca said some of the passengers were teachers and were part of the Basilan athletic delegation to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Athletic Association meet.

The chartered bus was on its way to Zamboanga City coming from Marawi City when it swerved and fell on its side, as the driver avoided the collision with an incoming vehicle, the police said.

The chartered bus, driven by Charlito Bout, 48, belongs to the Rural Transit Mindanao Inc.

The victims were rushed to the Pathfinder Hospital in the town of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, the police added.
