THE abductors have freed the five-year-old girl they kidnapped last month in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Thursday.

Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Ariel Huesca said the victim, Alexa Dela Cruz, was freed around 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sitio Masanang in the village of Poblacion, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Huesca said no ransom was paid for the release of the victim, whose parents are rice traders.

The victim was safely recovered by the police and military forces. She was brought to the municipal health office for medical check-up before she was brought to her father, Alejandro.
