Gunmen rob bizwoman in Zamboanga Sibugay

MOTORCYCLE-RIDING gunmen robbed a Filipino-Chinese businesswoman of P100,000 in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Thursday.

Zamboanga Sibugay police director Robert Roy Bahian said the incident took place around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday along Quirino Street in the village of Poblacion, Ipil.

Senior Superintendent Bahian identified the victim as Joan Lin, 34, the owner of 168 Mega Commercial located in downtown Ipil town.


Investigation showed the victim, after closing her business establishment, boarded a tricycle to go home.

However, he said three men, armed with handguns aboard a motorcycle without a registered plate number, blocked the tricycle and at gunpoint declared the heist.

He said the suspect took the victim?s bag containing about P100,000 and two units mobile phone.

Investigation continues in a bid to establish the identities of the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
