AN ESCAPEE was arrested nearly 10 years after he bolted from jail in the island province of Basilan, the police reported.

Isabela City police commander Superintendent Albert Larubis identified the arrested escapee as Salip Muksin of Marketsite village, Isabela City, Basilan.

Larubis said Muksin was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the village of Marketsite by policemen sent on a mission to arrest wanted persons.

Larubis was that Muksin was committed for detention to the Basilan provincial jail in November 5, 2002 for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

However, Larubis said that Muksin escaped on April 10, 2004 and have gone into hiding.

The arrested escapee was detained at the headquarters of the Isabela City police pending turn over to appropriate authorities, Larubis said.
