GUNMEN have robbed a courier firm of more than P500,000 in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Friday.

Police Officer 2 Gil De Roda Jungco, the case investigator, said the incident took place around 12:45 p.m. Thursday in the village of Poblacion, Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Jungco said investigation showed that the personnel of the courier firm, the LBC-Ipil branch, were busy attending to their clients when suddenly two unidentified gunmen entered and at gunpoint declared the heist.

Jungco said the suspects forcibly took P513,871 and fled aboard a motorcycle.

He said investigation continues in a bid to unmask and arrest the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
