Dole allocates P30M for Spes

THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) is in the process to determine how many students in each of the municipalities, cities and provinces in Zamboanga Peninsula Region will benefit in this year’s Summer Program for the Employment of Students (Spes).

Dole Regional Director Sisinio Cano made the announcement citing the government through the agency has allocated P30 million to employ a total of 11,985 students, both high school and college, through Spes this year in the entire region.

Cano’s office covers the cities of Dapitan, Dipolog, Isabela, Pagadian and Zamboanga and the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur.


Cano said the students who will be hired through Spes will work in different government and private offices for a period ranging from 20 days to 52 days.

Each of the students will receive a daily salary of P280 wherein 40 percent of it will be shouldered by DOLE and 60 percent by the employers. (Bong Garcia)
