A COUPLE was killed while their three-year-old daughter was left unscathed by a relative due to non-payment of “debt on drugs” in a west coast village in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday.

The fatalities were identified as Abdurajak Usab, 39, and his wife, Hadja Fharhana, 36, of Phase IV, Country Home in the village of Ayala.

Police Station 9 chief Edilberto Alvarez said that the victims were killed around 10:30 p.m. Monday but the incident was reported to them the next day.

Alvarez said they were informed by the couple’s daughter that her parents were killed by her uncle, who frequently visits them together with unidentified companions.

The police are continuously investigating the case to determine the identity of the killer since the couple’s daughter did not know her uncle by name.

The motive of the incident was believed to be connected with illegal drugs since a list of debt and some drug paraphernalia were found at the crime scene, Alvarez said. (Bong Garcia)
