Gunmen rob passenger bus-A A +A

TWO unidentified gunmen held-up and robbed an inter-provincial passenger bus along the Zamboanga-Pagadian Highway, the police reported Saturday.
The Zamboanga Sibugay police reported that the incident took place around 1:15 a.m. Friday in the village of San Jose, Imelda municipality of the said province.
Investigation showed that the passenger bus of the Rural Transit Mindanao Incorporated (RTMI) was en route to Pagadian City coming from Zamboanga City when it was held-up and robbed by the suspects who were among the passengers.
The police said that Elpidio Remitera Jr., 44, the driver of the bus with body number 9260 informed one of the suspects was seated behind him they already passed by Gandiangan village, their supposed destination, and that they were already in San Jose at that time.
Upon the reaching a curve road along San Jose village, the suspect seated behind Remitera pulled-out a handgun and declared the heist, the police said.
The suspect took the driver’s wallet containing P900 while the other suspect, who was also armed with handgun and seated at the rear portion of the bus took P3,000 from the conductor, Reymar Derotas, 24, representing their collections, the police said.
The suspects, who disembarked after they divested Remitera and Derotas, did not harmed nor divested anything from the passengers, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
