THREE unidentified gunmen, one of whom introduced himself as a government agent, have abducted a fishing boat owner in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Office reported on Thursday that the incident took place around 3 p.m. Tuesday at the wharf in the village of Magdaup, Ipil municipality.

The police identified the victim as Bensawdi Buhisan, a resident of Magdaup village.

Investigation showed the victim was at the Magdaup wharf after he bought fuel and ice for his fishing boat when the suspects arrived aboard an L-300 van, the police said.

The suspects, following a short conversation with Buhisan, handcuffed the victim and forced him to board on the van that sped towards the town proper of Ipil municipality.

One of the suspects who introduced himself as Alex Santos told the people at the wharf that they are members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the police said.

He even left a calling card bearing the name Alex Santos with contact number +639352829792, the police added.

Investigation continues to determine the identities of the suspects, the police said.
