POLICE arrested at a checkpoint in Zamboanga del Sur a wanted drug pusher and two others for possession of suspected shabu.

Arrested were Ralph Amir Iburon, 25; Steven Joy Alsado, 18; and John Kenneth Alajeño, 16, according to Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca.

Huesca said the suspects were nabbed around 3:30 p.m. Sunday along the national highway at Purok 2 in Barangay Poblacion, Guipos.

The suspects were aboard a motorcycle without a registered plate when stopped by policemen, who were conducting a mobile checkpoint along the highway.

Huesca said that one of the policemen noted that Iburon threw a plastic pack as they were approaching the checkpoint.

When checked, he said the plastic thrown by Iburon turned out to be a sachet of suspected shabu, thus the arrest.

Iburon is in the watchlist of suspected drug pushers in the municipality of Guipos, he said. (Bong Garcia)
