CALBAYOG CITY -- President Benigno Aquino III personally endorsed on Friday the Liberal Party (LP) candidates who are running for the different posts in the two Samar districts.

Aquino told the people, during the sortie inside the Calbayog City Sports Center, to support and vote for Team PNoy especially the local bets that he believes will bring change and development in Samar.

For gubernatorial post, Aquino proclaimed Rosa Jessica Aika Uy with Wilfredo Estorninas as vice-governor.

Uy, a registered-nurse-turned politician, is the daughter of the late Calbayog City Mayor Reynaldo Uy who shot dead by still unidentified killer three years ago.

Running for mayoral race are incumbent Mayor Ronald Aquino for Calbayog City and Step Uy-Tan in Catablogan City. Representative bets of the first and second districts are Mel Senen Sarmiento and Eunice Babalcon, respectively.

The incumbent mayor vowed to support the party and never tarnish the name they both share with the President.

Sarmiento, who is also the secretary-general of LP, received praises from the President, who said he is not an ordinary congressman and should be introduced into the National Government.

Other candidates from the city and municipal areas all over the province were also present to show their support to the Team PNoy. (Gerwin Babon)
