CEC scores 2 easy wins

CEBU Eastern College (CEC) had an impressive showing in the Alaska Basketball Cup 2014 last Feb. 9 with its Under-10 and Under-13 squads winning in lopsided fashion at the Lux Oriens Gym of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) and the University of
San Carlos (USC) South Campus.

CEC outclassed SHS-AdC in the Under-10 division, 46-10, while its Under-13 team blanked USC Gold, 66-46.

CEC, a guest team, is at the top of the Under-10 division with a 2-0 slate, while CEC also sits at the top of the Under-13 category with a 3-0 record.


In other Under-10 games, USC Green also went unbeaten with a 42-26 victory over Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), while University of the Visayas (UV) crushed USC Gold, 45-16.

In the Under-13 age class, Holy Spirit School-Tagbilaran continued to impress with a 47-28 beating of University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), while USC Green scored a lopsided 80-29 win over DBTC.

In the Under-16 Division 1 category, Thumbs Up handed SHS-AdC its first defeat, 42-38; SCSIT squeaked past USC Gold, 52-46, in overtime; USJ-R-A won against Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion-Mandaue (CIC-M) B97, 51-41; SIPS B97 drubbed University of Cebu (UC), 58-36.

In the Under-16 Division 2, SHS-AdC remained unbeaten with a 51-27 demolition of SIPS B98, 51-27; USJ-R-B captured its first win of the tournament, 43-40, over St. John Seminary A; Thumbs Up blanked St. John Seminary B, 37-28; and UV-B routed CEC-B, 49-28.
